For quite sometime now I was looking at pictures with pretty light bulbs with flowers or pebbles in them, so nice and cute! And I always admired those who do it because I thought it needed crafty work to get it done. Well, it actually is rather crafty!
You will need: ίA pretty bulb, pliers, screwdriver, a hammer and rope.
Now let’s get this thing done!
FIRST OF ALL, WEAR PROTECTIVE GLASSES!!!! Tiny pieces of glass might come your way, so best be prepared.
So, you see this round metal thingy? This is the first that has to go. It’s rather easy, you could probably do it by hand. You could also try pliers.
There, gone! Now, you see the black part? This is glass and you need to – very carefully – break it.
Hold the bulb by it’s metal part and start hitting the black glass with the hammer. Every now and then, turn the bulb upside down so the broken glass falls.
Now it’s time to get really crafty and try to pull all the rest out. In this case there was another piece of glass which I broke by pulling it to the metal side, applying pressure on the metal sides.
I managed to pull the rest out, by using my pliers, slowly changing it’s form, breaking it little by little so finally it came out.
Tie the rope round the metal part.
Cha ching! Ready, empty and now it’s time to put some flowers in it.
A twig from the pomegranate tree will do!
Nice idea, huh?
